Are you ready? Join AIXTRON

Your future is AIXTRON

The name AIXTRON is made up of the French name for the city of Aachen, “Aix-la-Chapelle”, and part of the word “electronics”. This way, the company describes both its geographical roots and its connection to technology.

At AIXTRON, we believe that good apprenticeship is the foundation for a successful career. That’s why we offer motivated young people the chance to learn various vocations. A dual course of study is another option for shaping your professional future with us. Unlike the classic apprenticeship model, where apprentices work at the company and attend a vocational school, a dual course of study combines theory and practice. You are enrolled at a university and regularly alternate between your studies and working for us. This allows you to put what you have learned into practice straight away, and at the same time you earn an academic degree. We provide training in order to be successful together. We therefore strive to offer a permanent position to all apprentices who successfully complete the programme.

What do you do on a dual course of study?

We are currently working on a project about data. At AIXTRON’s facilities, data are continuously being measured and stored, and right now we’re using an outdated storage database. In our project, we looked at whether we could use a new, more extensive database. There have been plenty of opportunities to learn and apply new things over the course of the project. And our trainers have always been there to offer their support.

What makes AIXTRON so fascinating for apprentices?

As a former apprentice and current employee, AIXTRON offers me plenty of opportunities for personal advancement by being involved in work and development processes. This allows me to take on new challenges, letting me expand my capabilities even during my apprenticeship. No day is like the other, and that’s what makes my apprenticeship and current position so fascinating.

Close interlocking of theory & practice

Through the dual study program, I was able to closely combine theory and practice, as I had hoped. The exchange with colleagues and the insights into the various departments during the practical phases made it easier for me to choose the areas of specialization for my studies. The open corporate culture at AIXTRON also enabled me to build up a network of contacts during my studies, which I still benefit from today.

Which apprenticeship is right for you?

AIXTRON is counting on the future of technology and therefore offers a broad range of training programmes. For example, you can choose to take a dual course of studies in Business Administration or Mathematical-Technical Software Development (MATSE) with us. You’ve also come to the right place for training programmes to become a mechatronics engineer, an industrial manager or an IT specialist in system integration or data and process analysis. We are constantly working to offer more training programmes to keep up with the fast-paced world of technology. We look forward to getting to know you and shaping your future in the technology industry together.

What does a dual course of study at AIXTRON have to offer?

I chose the Business Studies PLUS dual course of study at AIXTRON because I find it highly motivating to work at an innovative company. Moreover, as an industrial company, AIXTRON is an excellent fit for modules at a technical college or vocational school. A lot of what you learn can be used directly in your day-to-day work.
