Are you ready? Join AIXTRON
Ongoing innovation is the most important driving force at AIXTRON. What makes our products so exciting is that we explore the limits of what is technically possible. Short development cycles with a well-stocked product pipeline secure our market leadership. Our suppliers support us during product development and are vital to ensuring a smooth supply of materials. This is why they are part of AIXTRON’s value system. Our team of specialists in Global Purchasing buy products and services on global procurement markets with foresight and care. We employ the entire range of tools available to us, encompassing everything from market analysis through to careful examination of our suppliers’ terms and conditions of payment. Our Supply Chain Management team ensures the availability of materials and acts as a link between the commissioning departments – so Sales, After Sales, Marketing and Development – and Global Purchasing and Production. Join our team as a category manager, project buyer, analyst, planner or management expert and make AIXTRON your next career move.
Thanks to the highly efficient components produced using our systems, we already make a major contribution to a more sustainable life. In Global Purchasing, however, we want to live up to our commitment to sustainability through our business relations with suppliers, too. This is why we are aiming to establish a sustainable supply chain. The most important thing here is that our suppliers understand our commitment to sustainability. The next step is to gradually reduce CO2 emissions in the supply chain. This is significant for AIXTRON because a huge proportion of emissions occur during the purchase of goods and services. In this way, we can influence the level of emissions and create a low-carbon supply chain. Other aspects relating to our supply chain involve the responsible sourcing of raw materials, observing human rights and avoiding all forms of corruption. To achieve these aims, we attach huge importance to transparency as well as very close, long-term cooperation with our business partners and suppliers. The control tower, which we established in Supply Chain Management, allows us to keep a constant eye on our short-, medium- and long-term material situation. Processing and supplying the material forecast data also enables us to safeguard the availability of materials for our procurement and production processes.
Our Global Purchasing and Supply Chain Management departments keep constant track of our inventories and demand. We make careful decisions based on our experience of working with suppliers and our ability to source high-quality materials so that our colleagues in Production and Development always have enough resources at their disposal. Support AIXTRON with your negotiation, analysis and planning skills in our Global Purchasing and Supply Chain Management departments and make us your next career move.

As a producer of high-tech systems, AIXTRON is required to fulfil the very highest market requirements and customer expectations. These demands on our systems, services and processes not only apply to technical matters but also present the challenge of maintaining a high-quality supply chain. Process design and documentation play a key role in this. Our goal is to define, implement and constantly monitor the optimum procurement and provisioning strategies for our complex products. This ensures that we can supply our company with the goods and services it needs. The continuous optimisation of procurement terms and conditions allows us to constantly leverage savings potential and safeguard the competitiveness of AIXTRON.
Forecasting allows us to identify future demand in advance. Success through teamwork
Text (ca. 450 Zeichen inkl. Autor gemäß Bildhöhe): I started working as an e-planning technician 25 years ago. I joined Purchasing in 2001, underwent ongoing training and development and, since 2021, have been working as a team lead for electronic materials. Teamwork is what always excites me about working here at AIXTRON. We’re a big team that successfully develops and manufactures systems and sells them all over the world. Each and every member of the team is crucial to this success.

At AIXTRON, Global Purchasing is divided into the areas of strategic purchasing, operational purchasing, purchasing of indirect goods and services and project purchasing. Global Purchasing is responsible for not only systematically optimising purchasing costs in the face of ever-more-exacting quality requirements and without losing sight of scheduling and service targets, but also maintaining close contact with suppliers in order to manage conditions and development potential. It is also responsible for managing invitations to tender and commodity groups, performing cost and value analysis projects and supporting the material planning team.
Supply Chain Management is divided into the Logistics and Corporate Supply Chain Management areas. Our logistics experts are responsible for safeguarding the entire material flow, which encompasses everything from import and goods receipt through to storage, picking and export. Supply Chain Management focuses on the sales and operations planning process for the analysts and planners.

Our benefits
Like all enterprises, we bear great responsibility when it comes to sustainability. In our Global Purchasing and SCM departments, too, this is where the focus lies. It is important here to create awareness: what are the specific requirements regarding sustainable suppliers and decarbonisation within the supply chain? CO2 emissions have to be reduced and raw materials responsibly sourced. To achieve these aims, we attach huge importance to transparency as well as close, long-term cooperation with our suppliers. Our code of conduct for suppliers is based on a range of ethical, moral and legal standards that our suppliers are required to observe. Strict requirements apply, for example, when it comes to the use of conflict minerals.
