Semiconductors are an essential part of electronic components such as LEDs, lasers, transistors and solar cells. These in turn are important to a host of innovative applications, technologies and industries. This includes LED and display technology, data transmission, e-mobility, sensor technology, energy management and conversion, communication, signalling, lighting and many other complex high-tech applications.  

This is as future-oriented as it gets: the products we are working on at any given time often don’t go onto the market until around 20 years later. What is more, many of our applications have the potential to significantly reduce energy and raw material use. As a result, we play a key role in making the world greener and more sustainable.
